Одной из особенностей Universal Extractor является интегрированная функциональность утилиты TrID, что позволяет программе распознавать по содержимому 2400 самых разных типов файлов. В новой версии Universal Extractor добавлены поддержка переменных сред, модулей слияния Windows Installer, файлов NBH, несколько новых типов архивов, языков, а также внесено около 50-ти другим мелких улучшений.

Утилита имеет простейший, если не сказать примитивный интерфейс. Собственно в каких-либо панелях, окнах Universal Extractor не нуждается. При инсталляции программа интегрируется в контекстное меню Проводника, что позволяет производить все операции по распаковке, не открывая основного окна. Если же работа из Проводника по какой-то причине покажется вам неприемлемой, пожалуйста, можете открыть окошко утилиты, указать путь к распаковываемому архиву, место для сохранения файлов и запустить распаковку.
